She becomes a circus performer overnight in the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris, investigating anti-czarist espionage activity, searching for a lost Zulu princess, solving the murder of a British agent, and protecting the world from the leakage of British military secrets to Russia.

I'm truly enjoying Suzette Hollingsworth's The Great Detective In Love series. I love the actor for the audiobooks as well. I can't wait for her third book to be available in audiobook as well. She keeps the integrity of Sir Conan Doyle's original characterization of Detective Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson, while shaping a strong, confident, feminine, and loveable character in Miss Mirabella Hudson.The cases are dark and suspenseful enough without being stab-you-in-the-face scary, while providing scenes of well rounded characters. I hope she continues writing more, as they add a layer and depth to Sherlock Holmes that I've always wanted and hoped for with him. As a massive Sherlock Holmes fan, this series warms my heart, gets it racing, and makes it sing.Product details

This was my second Sherlock book by Ms. Hollingsworth and well worth the read, (or listen, in my case). Really well written and very enjoyable!
This current day version of a Sherlock Holmes mystery is just as good as those by Arthur Conan Doyle. It's intriguing and spiced by subtle humor. The plot is well written and maintains the reader interest throughout the story.
Another great sequel by a wonderful author. Hollingsworth continues her series of AC Doyle fan fictions with even more complexities than one would find in a mystery novel. I enjoyed it quite a bit, even though I don't normally read mysteries. Going to buy the next one in the series RSN.
Anything Sherlock, well most anything. I believe I enjoy the banter,and charged atmosphere between Sherlock and his "detective in training! There is a difference in their relationship that cannot be in anyway compared to that with Watson. It is actually fun watching Holmes the instructor / trainer, fight his inner awakening more human feelings starting to develop from interest, to admiration to ? Please write on. I am thoroughly enjoying this series!
It was nice to see Sherlock and Watson in their younger years. I was surprised by the young woman in the story working with Holmes. It is a good book and I would be willing to read others she has done as I love Sherlock Holmes. She has a good handle on them and the world they operate in. I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book, through Reading Deals, so I could give an honest review.
First, remember that himself is 27 and Watson is 29 in this series. Then rid yourself of any Basil Rathbone-type prejudices. Think more along the lines of Cumberbatch, and you won't be hypercritical. That's important because this is great fun (or is it pun?). The publisher's blurb gives a fair overview, but doesn't convey the enjoyment that I had reading it. However, no spoilers here. So grab a lemonade and be prepared to be entertained, exasperated, and even learn a few historical things.

This is the second book that I have read by Suzette Hollingsworth with Sherlock Holmes as the main character. Once again he, Dr. Watson and their faithful assistant Mirabella are off to Paris to infiltrate a circus to solve the murder of a British agent and recover British military secrets from Czarist Russia. I thought the book was a little slow in the first chapters because it dealt more with Mirabella trying to become more than just a laboratory assistant. Sherlock Holmes is still the brilliant detective and Dr.Watson is still his willing partner.
