It was a rather erotic story with a strong hero. No real twists just a good erotic read that kept my attention without feeling the need of skipping over unnecessary story.
I gave this book a three rating because it was a nice little story and I enjoyed the characters and how they grew
They are some stubborn, stubborn, did I mention STUBBORN, people. The sex in this story was HOT but all of the underhandedness and temper tantrums that went on were pretty frustrating and quite funny too. I liked this story a lot and had to finish it before I could do anything else. In other-words I couldn't put it down. Thank Goodness for a HEA (happily ever after). I recommend this book.
I was very pleasantly surprised when I bought this book on my because of the 6 really good reviews. Since I am a bit of a book snob (if there is not at least 4.5 stars with at least 5 reviews then I wont even look) I have alot of trouble finding acceptable books. The only bad thing I have to say about this one is that it was just too short. I really wanted more. I loved how the hero loved her for so long and just couldn't give her up. It is a really sweet story. I would definately recomend reading it if you are into strong males who are in complete control (other than the heroin) of the world around them and females who tend to push buttons just for the heck of it.
I know the reviews have been mixed and I could see why--the book is more on the erotica than traditional romance. While it offers the typical M/F subjects who are at cross-roads and seem to hate/sex chemistry/love...fight feelings..the sex scenes are more graphic and uses a lot of "vernacular" language, anal sex and an initial sex scene between the hero and two non-heroine women but once the H/h start their relationship that is the end of the "straying". Personally, I LOVED it. It is kind of a Penthouse Letters meets Harlequin Romance. Honestly, this is what I want from "erotic romance"--nothing too kinky, everything within the bounds of a commited relationship is ok, no "cheating" and a happily ever after ending
What a treat! This is a beautifully written piece that flows effortlessly from page to page. The characters are spicy and engagingly real, with such believable highs and lows as to refreshingly draw to a satisfying HEA. Not for those who are looking for hot and heavy bondage or abuse, rather totally believable and timely romps in keeping with the times. Thanks for the ride Scottie Barrett, I'll be looking for more!
This is a very good sexy story about two cousins Collin and Becket deSaxby who have been in competition for a servants daughter Christiana who was their friend since childhood. Beckett has her return to the castle after her father's death as she is on the verge of starvation. He has desired her forever but never acted on it. Something happened between she and Collin years ago that bothered him it was disclosed at the end. Beckett and she finally began a sexual relationship both care for each other but never admit it. She was kidnapped and rescued by a mysterious masked man caled Blackwell who has been protecting the king from an evil nobleman. Christiana knows it is Beckett who is Blackwell by a tattoo and acts sexually to him. He refuses her and is very hurt.She goes back to the Castle knowing it is over between them.He returns bringing a wife to be and her family .Tels her she has to leave which she already knows. It all works out to a HEA he finally learns she knew who he was as Blackwell. He realizes he waas jealous of his own self. I had not read any of her books before but will look for more .
The author is listed under erotica, however this in the middle of the road erotica. Not light erotica, but not heavy erotica. Basically you have a lord and his family butlers daughter, Christiana. They liked each other when they were younger. However something happens so they never acknowledge how they fell about each other. Years later after her father dies Lord Beckett makes her come work at the house for protect. Beckett is still in love with her, and wants her for himself, but can not forget what happen years ago. Christiana doesn't want to work in the castle. Some people are mean to her and she wants to get away from her feeling for Beckett, and his womanizing ways.
Christiana seems to give in to easily to becoming Beckett's mistress, but all in all a decent short story. A big misunderstanding almost costs them their happiness, a long with a couple of other things. But as always things work out in the end. Short story's are to short to really develop a great story so not a lot to say. Will come down to whether you like erotic or not.
