From the bestselling author of Murder at Rutherford Hall, comes the sixth book in the Rachel Markham Mystery Series.
Death at Fernside
A Rachel Markham Mystery
Book Six – In the Mystery Series
When Rosemary, better known as Lady Woolton - an aging aristocratic acquaintance sends an invitation to Jeremy and Rachel, for her 83rd birthday celebration, little do they realise that their journey to the scenic Lake District will throw them into a web of murder, mayhem and deceit. And this time the case is closer to home, perhaps a bit too close to home for comfort. It promises to take all their brilliance and teamwork to unravel an unsolved murder committed twenty years ago. The fact that the victim was Jeremy’s mother, Gloria Richards, complicates matters further as they must deal with familial bonds of love and deception, atonement and redemption as they spiral towards the truth.

I love mysteries post world war 2! I enjoyed the character of Rachel Markham very much. A delightful and cozy read.

Such an amazing book...a must read for anyone who enjoys PB Kolleri novels. Finished this book in one day, could not put it down!
PB Kolleri keeps the tension ratcheted high in this thoroughly engrossing tale of intersecting strangers and intimate betrayals. Kept me guessing until the very end.
A well written and at times amusing mystery with a sufficiently complex plot to keep most readers guessing. You can't help but get sucked into the Rachel Markham Mystery Series
Did it again! July 4, 2014 By Stayce Einnyen
Once again P.B. has given us a lovely book. All I can say that is negative about the story, is I wish they were longer. I hope we get to see loads more of Rachel and Jeremy. Thank you for giving us these delightful books.

A little mystery filled with English characters and foibles. Light easy reading, something good for a long cold night. A book reminiscent of Agatha Christie, cozy and comfortable like a warm fire and a cup of coffee.

This book is not one of Kolleri's best. It felt rushed and lacked the usual connection between Rachel and Jeremy. At one point Jeremy disappears with an old flame embarrassing Rachel and that is just sort of forgotten. Kolleri's worst, however is head and shoulders above most of the dribble that goes for mystery writing these days, so I highly recommend this book. There is an actual mystery, the reader gets clues and is led astray. I am embarrassed to say I got it wrong. That alone was worth the read.Product details

Death at Fernside Rachel Markham Mystery Series Book 6 edition by PB Kolleri Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is the first book I have read by PB Kolleri even though this is #6 in the Rachel Markham Mystery Series. I enjoy books that are not in modern times as it gives me insight to what was. This was in 1948, England and the countryside is described in great detail. I felt like I was there. There were a lot of characters and since It was several days between my reading, I had to go back and check who was who. But in the end it all fell into place. I was able to pick up some of the twist/plot but I was surprised at the total end. This was a very good read as I enjoy mysteries but not the gory ones. Disclosure - I received a free PDF copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. If this review was helpful to you, please let me know by marking it helpful.
So I love a good suspense novel. One of my favorite authors is James Patterson because of the many twists and turns his novels offer. This novel was OK. It was short (less than 150 pages) and an easy read. I was able to finish it in an evening, which is a big deal considering I have two small children so getting a chance to read for leisure is hard to come by.
The book centers around Jeremy and Rachel and their trip to Lake District for Lady Wooltons 83rd birthday celebration. The trip doesn’t go as planned and they are soon thrown into a web of murder, mayhem and deceit. Without giving it away, I will say it didn’t end how I, nor most, thought it would! Interesting right up until the end. I wish I would’ve read the first 5 books in the series, but despite not reading them, I was able to keep up with the storyline.
The reason I am knocking off a star is because of the many grammatical and spelling errors throughout. You would think it would have been proofread several times before being released. The many errors I came across honestly kept me from enjoying the book as I was too distracted from the lack of editing.
I received this item at a discount for my very true and unbiased review. All of my reviews are honest and some even critical but as a consumer I try to be as forthcoming as possible. If this helped please click YES below! Thank you.
I enjoyed it very much
I've read all the books in this series to date and they're all enjoyable. Looking forward to many more to be published.
I love her books, they remind me of Agatha Christie's murder mysteries. I just finished the six books in this series. I would like to read more of her stories.
As always another great mystery for Rachel and Jeremy to solve. Can't wait for the next book. P. B. Moeller makes all the characters come to life.
I really enjoyed the entire series Kolleri has given us. The Lake district setting ,near Beatrice Potter' s venue, was perfect for the story and the characters and intrigue of MI 6 WW2 agents, kept the suspense to the end. I hope Rachel and her husband have further mysteries to solve.
